These terms govern your use of foundationlittlestars.org and any donation you make through it. The site is operated by Little Stars Foundation, a domestic nonprofit corporation organized under the laws of the State of New Mexico, United States (file 3151274), EIN 41-3928251, with its principal office at 3410 Mackland Ave NE, Albuquerque, NM 87106. In these terms, "we" and "the foundation" mean that organization; "you" means anyone using the site.
By using the site or making a donation, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
What this site is
This site describes the foundation's purpose, publishes its governing documents and filing status, and accepts charitable donations. We do not sell goods or services through this site, and nothing on it is an offer to sell anything.
Donations
- A donation is a voluntary gift. You receive no goods, services, membership, entry, advantage or other consideration in return for it.
- All amounts are in United States dollars (USD) and are charged in USD. If your card is denominated in another currency, your bank sets the exchange rate and may add a foreign transaction fee. We neither control nor receive that fee.
- You must be authorized to use the payment method. By donating, you confirm you are at least 18 years old and that the card or account belongs to you or that you have permission to use it.
- Recurring donations continue until cancelled. A monthly gift is charged on or around the same day each month until you cancel it. You may cancel at any time under our donation and refund policy.
- We may decline or return a donation — for example where we cannot verify its source, where accepting it would conflict with our charitable purpose, or where a restriction attached to it is one we cannot honour.
Tax treatment
Our application for recognition of exemption under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code is pending. Until the IRS issues a determination letter, contributions to Little Stars Foundation are not tax-deductible. Nothing on this site is tax advice. Consult your own advisor about your situation.
Refunds and cancellation
Our donation and refund policy forms part of these terms and explains when we refund a gift and how to cancel a recurring one. Read it before you give.
Payment processing and security
Card payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. and are subject to Stripe's own terms and privacy policy. Card details are submitted directly to Stripe over an encrypted connection; the foundation never receives or stores your full card number, and payment handling is PCI-DSS compliant through Stripe. This entire site is served over HTTPS.
Donors outside the United States
We accept donations from donors anywhere in the world. Every gift is charged in United States dollars and processed in the United States, so your bank sets the exchange rate and may add a foreign transaction fee that we neither control nor receive. Little Stars Foundation is organized in the State of New Mexico and registered with its Office of the Attorney General. How your gift is treated for tax purposes in your own country is governed by that country's rules, and we cannot advise on them.
Acceptable use
Do not use this site to break the law, to test or submit payment credentials you are not authorized to use, to attempt to gain unauthorized access to it, to interfere with its operation, or to scrape or reuse its contents at a scale that degrades it for others. We may block access where we reasonably believe any of these is happening.
Accuracy
We work to keep the filing information on this site accurate and current, and we cite the public registries so you can check it independently. Even so, the site is provided as-is and we do not warrant that it is free of error or always available.
Intellectual property
The name Little Stars Foundation, our logo, and the text of this site belong to the foundation. You may quote or link to the site with attribution. Photography and illustration used here are licensed to the foundation and may not be redistributed separately.
Links to other sites
Where we link to a state or federal registry, or to an organization we fund, we do so to help you verify something. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, the foundation is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of this site. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and nothing in them affects your rights against your card issuer.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Bernalillo County, New Mexico.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we change the date at the top and describe what changed rather than replacing the page silently. Changes apply from the date they are posted and do not affect donations already made.
